Medical Community Assisted Dallas Cowboys During Training Camp

By Dan L. Brown, Head Athletic Trainer

Midwestern State University

The medical community of Wichita Falls contributed tremendously to the care of the Dallas Cowboys while they trained on the campus of Midwestern State University. The Clinics of North Texas were efficient and prompt whenever a Cowboy might need an x-ray for an injury or a physical. Dr. Pino of the Clinics of North Texas volunteered countless hours assisting the team during the practices and games. The Dallas Cowboys have their own medical staff, but it’s a lot easier when a host physician can lend a hand. The entire staff at the United Diagnostic Center pitched in as well by getting the Cowboys in and out for MRI exams. Frank Andrajack did a very fine job in setting up the routine. The offices of Dr. Thomas Curran, DDS and Dr. John Rudisill, MSU Dental Hygiene Program, were very helpful in their assistance with the care of the dental needs of the Cowboys. Roy Cleveland, with Walgreens, and his staff took great and efficient care of the Cowboys’ prescription needs. There was considerable help from other people as well who took their own time to assist the Cowboys while they were here. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the 1998 Dallas Cowboy Training Camp at Midwestern State University. We look forward to next years’ training camp with great anticipation, and I look forward to working with local medical facilities and personnel.
